Singapore is not only one of the smallest countries in south-east Asia, Singapore is also one of the most modern cities in the continent. Singapore possesses one of the greatest harbors in the world and is referred to by many as shopping heaven. The blend of eastern versus western inhabitants creates a rich social stew with great diversity. This results in a wide variety of shops, activities, mouthwatering food and, as you might have guessed, awesome options for another thrilling hospitality tour!
Day 1

It’s Friday again and today you will arrive is the most modern city of South-East Asia. This beacon has been an example for the rise of Asia and the development of Singapore has been studied closely by the emerging powers like China and India. When you arrive at the airport you will notice immediately that everything is exceptionally well organized and already we are inspired by the architecture and modern design of the airport. Glass staircases, enormous arrival halls and a impressive metro station: what a phenomenal inviting sense of arrival! From the airport, take the metro to Orchard Road and take the stop at the Ion Mall. In this mall you will the most exclusive fashion brands like Luis Vuitton and Prada and if you do not want to spend your money on clothes but rather on drinks; this mall is pure eye candy with LED lit corridors and ceilings. Anyway, we still need to drop off our bags…
We suggest to stay in The Marriott Singapore (320 Orchard Road) which is located across the street from the Ion Mall. The Marriott is a world hotel brand and also this piece is one to be seen! Luxury hotel rooms, a superb spa and if you have the privilege: an executive club level with views over Singapore from one of the highest floors available. Now…time to rock and roll baby!
After you dropped your bags and took a shower, take the subway to Clarke Quay district (taken that you arrived in Singapore in the evening just like we did). This is one of the world’s most innovative nightlife districts with clubs, coffee bars, restaurants and bars all centralized in one location. Really, there is plenty of choice for everyone! On top of that, we felt this was one of the safest nightlife districts that we have ever been too.
Indulge and grab something to eat in one of the many fine designed restaurants. All kinds of international cuisine may be found not only in Clarke Quay but throughout Singapore. In one word: fantastic!
After dinner we’ll have a quick cocktail at The Clinic (Clarke Quay, The Cannery, River Valley Road) where you can smash some slammers down in…a wheelchair! This questionable but innovative concept used to be one of the hottest spots in Singapore but since new venues have opened the hype has calmed a bit. You might want to do some more pit-stops in one of the many diverse bars in Clarke Quay, ranging from Turkish to Irish to Chinese bars.
The next stop is inevitable: Clubbing at the Ministry of Sound (01-07 Block C, Clarke Quay)! The Ministry of Sound is the godfather of London’s clubbing life. Well, guess what: this famous London based club created by DJ Justin Berkmann and his partners in the early 90′s has opened it’s doors in Singapore, hosting the world’s biggest DJ’s! This is the world’s largest Ministry of Sound and offers 7 different area’s. Ministry of Sound sound draws crowds from all the corners of this city. In line with Berkmann’s vision the club offers thrilling sound systems (100% sound baby!!), the ultimate in light systems and of course, all those drinks that you’ve been waiting for! Shake your booty and rock and roll! Finished clubbing? Want to go to bed? Well if you’re back at the Marriott and almost pressed that elevator button to go back to your room, STOP!
We have just one more little surprise for you…not far away from your bed is Bar None (320 Orchard Road SingaporeMarriott Hotel)! Located on the ground floor of the Marriott, this venue offers vibey beats and tremendous surroundings! The walls are decorated with old school paintings and photographs of legendary musicians. This venue is perfect for catching la creme (read: young hipsters and funky expats) in surroundings more intimate than an aircraft hanger. Don’t know what to order anymore? Can’t handle it anymore? The doctor always knows what to serve you around this time of night: Co-To (Cognac & Tonic water) is the bomb! Sleep well…

Day 2
Day 2, so many sights to see in Singapore and so many bars to visit. Explore Singapore during the daytime and have lunch in one of the many food markets (a.k.a hawker centre) where you will find a melting pot between the Malay, Chinese, Western and Indian kitchens. As you will see many different people visit these food markets creating a laid back ambiance. On top of that…the food is inexpensive! For a real recovery meal try the Char Kway Teow (Fried Soya-flavoured Noodles with Cockles, Eggs, and Fish Cake): High in cholesterol, high in fats and high in everything bad for the heart but… ridiculously high in enjoyment.
After your afternoon sightseeing we will head to one of the most famous hotels in Singapore: Raffles Hotel Singapore. We are visiting a classic piece that every self respecting bar-lover should have been to at least once in a lifetime: The Long Bar (Raffles Hotel Singapore, 1 Beach Road). The decor of this icon reminds of the colonial British Empire and the many travelers and far-east traders that visited this bar in the past. The nuts are for free and it is a unwritten rule to throw your shells on the floor! Now…the drink that you’ve been waiting for was invented here before 1910: The Singapore Sling cocktail. Yeah baby! Have as many as you want, they go down smooth for sure
(Do not be surprised by the bill, the cocktails are Singpore $29 p.p.).
If you want to go for a classic dinner, go to PS. Cafe (28B Harding Rd) though if you have that same i-want-more-feeling that we have: next stop…Oosh (22 Dempsey Road). This recently renovated “pre-clubbing venue” is located in a refurbished colonial building and boasts a breathtaking waterfall feature. Therestaurant is located on the 2nd floor and offers cosy, mood-lit cabanas and a very convenient on-call service button. On the ground floor you will find the bar that is divided in 5 (!) different area’s. Now that’s what we’re talking about! Sit back, relax, start off with a Tiger beer and then order that bottle of Mumm you’ve been dying for
.
Hang out here for a while until we move on to Zouk (17 Jiak Kim Street) around 12am. This exquisite club rocks with great international DJs in a cool atmosphere. Superb clubbing, decor, music and a good mix of locals vs tourists. Now, you wouldn’t be you if you didn’t carry your card for that private membership level on the second floor HAHA! The funky bartenders know how to poor some good shots in order for you to lose it completely…Aaallright
Rock and roll baby! Stunning Singapore…
Hey great post!
